Engineering practice involves using human ingenuity to find a practical solution that can be designed, constructed and put into practice with the resources and knowledge available. This problem-solving approach to improving the human experience is as ancient as humankind itself. As challenges have become more complex, applications focused on single-discipline solutions have begun to fall short, however, and the concept of concurrent engineering has evolved to describe the parallel integration of all phases of process and product design throughout a project.

This publication presents the proceedings of TE2025, the 32nd ISTE International Conference on Transdisciplinary Engineering, held from 7 to 11 July 2025 in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. TE2025 followed in the long tradition of ISTE, bringing together a diverse global community of scholars and practitioners from fourteen countries and four continents. After a thorough double-blind, peer-reviewed process of the received submissions, the 50 selected papers included here were delivered at TE2025 under the conference theme Transdisciplinarity for a Better World.  Topic areas covered included transdisciplinary approaches to decision support tools and methods; value engineering; risk management; knowledge management and knowledge engineering; cost modeling; and analysis, as well as new product design and development; team working; smart operations and value chain; and digital engineering.

The new generation of engineers must not only be knowledgeable in a specific field, but also able to communicate, team-build and synergize within a transdisciplinary engineering approach with other quantitative and non-quantitative disciplines. This volume of proceedings will provide inspiration for their endeavors.
