The landscape of cyber-physical manufacturing systems and their role in shaping the next generation of industrial innovations is evolving rapidly, with areas such as digital twin technologies and structural health monitoring emerging as areas of focus, together with virtual manufacturing, process simulation, and real-time equipment diagnostics.
This publication presents the proceedings of ICSSD 2025, the 2025 International Conference on Smart Manufacturing, Structural Health Monitoring and Digital Twins, held from 26 to 28 June 2025 in Dongguan, China. The conference served as an interdisciplinary platform to bring together academic researchers, engineers, and industry professionals to explore the convergence of intelligent manufacturing technologies, digital twin methodologies, and advanced health monitoring systems in modern industrial ecosystems. A total of 66 high-quality manuscript submissions were received for the conference, of which 31 papers were accepted following a rigorous peer review procedure. The selected contributions exemplify theoretical innovation and practical relevance, and collectively reflect cutting-edge developments across the interconnected domains of manufacturing intelligence and structural health diagnostics. The papers are divided into 3 sections: smart structural health monitoring; smart manufacturing; and advanced modeling. Subjects covered include smart manufacturing architectures, industrial robotics, additive manufacturing, and lean production strategies, with increasing emphasis on sustainability and data-driven optimization.
Covering a broad spectrum of topics in manufacturing science and intelligent system integration, this volume of proceedings will serve as a valuable reference for all researchers, engineers, and practitioners dedicated to advancing smart and sustainable manufacturing.
