Description

Functional materials are advanced materials designed with specific properties that enable them to perform certain functions in diverse applications. They are of particular relevance in the fields of civil, transportation, and energy engineering.

This publication presents the proceedings of CONF-FMCE 2025, the 3rd International Conference on Functional Materials and Civil Engineering. The conference was held in the form of two symposiums, held on 25 July 2025 in Eskisehir, Turkey, and on 24 October 2025 in Glasgow, Scotland. The aim of this annual conference series is to establish an interdisciplinary platform for experts, researchers, and students from around the world to present, exchange, and discuss the latest advances and developments in functional materials, civil engineering, transportation engineering, and energy engineering. The conference received a total of 39 submissions, of which 8 were ultimately selected for presentation and publication after a comprehensive review in which each paper was examined and evaluated for theme, structure, method, content, language, and format. This resulted in a final acceptance rate of 20.5%.

Covering the latest developments in areas as diverse as flood causality and the energy efficiency of building materials, the book will be of interest to all those working with functional materials in the fields of civil, transportation and energy engineering.
