Description

As the volume and complexity of information and the size of data and knowledge bases, together with the number of levels of abstraction, continue to grow in parallel with the complexity of computational processes, information modeling and knowledge bases have become important topics in those academic communities devoted to information systems, computer science, and AI.

This publication presents the proceedings of EJC 2025, the 43rd conference in the series currently entitled the International Conference on Information Modelling and Knowledge Bases, held from 9 to 13 June 2025 in Ostrava, Czech Republic. The aim of the EJC conference series is to contribute to progress in the fields of computer science and other disciplines by the dissemination of innovative research, and thereby to facilitate the understanding and solving of problems related to information modeling and knowledge bases. Of the 25 selected papers in this volume, the first three cover the topics of the invited talks delivered at the conference: SPA-based Semantic Computing System for Natural Environment-Analysis and Visualization with 5-Dimensional World-Map System; The Fast Growing Role of ICT in Global Electricity Consumption; and The Assignment to Become a Model: Model-Hood. The remaining papers address topics including the theory of concepts; semantic computing; data mining; context-based information retrieval; ontological technology; image, temporal and spatial databases; environmental analysis; and social computing.

Providing an overview of the latest developments in the field, this volume of proceedings will be of interest to all those working on aspects of information modeling and knowledge bases.
