Call for Papers for a Special Issue on Rural Rehabilitation and Workforce Research

Submit before February 1, 2025

You are invited to submit a manuscript for consideration in a special issue on rural rehabilitation and workforce research. For this issue, the editors will consider manuscripts from any geographic context and across a range of topics, professions or scientific disciplines that address rural rehabilitation and workforce issues, including but not limited to: rural disparities in the access to and quality of care, models to enhance rural rehabilitation access or outcomes, education and strengthening of rural rehabilitation workforces, and recruitment and retention of rehabilitation workforces in rural locations.

Article types include but are not limited to:

  • Efficacy and effectiveness studies
  • Pilot and feasibility studies
  • Systematic and scoping reviews
  • Observational studies, including qualitative or quantitative
  • Case studies (beyond case reports)
  • Intervention codesign or participatory studies 

Special Issue Editors

Timeline

  • August 1, 2024: Special issue open for submissions
  • February 1, 2025: Manuscript submission deadline
  • May 1, 2025: Reviews provided to authors
  • July 1, 2025: Final manuscripts due
  • Fall 2025: Publication of the special issue
