While health and care are increasingly delivered in a digital world, the digital community continues to engage in meaningful conversations to foster deep connections and collaborative efforts, disrupt traditional healthcare models with innovative solutions, and transform the future of healthcare to achieve a vision of ‘healthier lives, digitally enabled’.
This publication presents the proceedings of HIC2025, the annual Australasian national conference for digital health and health informatics, held in Melbourne, Australia, from 18-20 August 2025. The conference provided the ideal environment for clinicians, researchers, health IT professionals, industry and consumers to integrate, collaborate, educate and share their knowledge.
The conference – Engage. Disrupt. Transform. - focused on eight themes that underpin a fully digital healthcare sector: connected care; data and innovation; First Nations people data sovereignty; interoperability; workforce models of care; research; future focus; and other. The 15 papers and 2 posters reflect these themes and highlight the broad spectrum of work encompassing major theoretical concepts, key applications of new technologies, and significant new developments in digital health.
This publication includes examples of a future where collective insights, shared knowledge and vision of research innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and enthusiasm are the driving forces behind systemic improvements in a data-rich digital health landscape. It will be of interest to all those involved in the field of healthcare.
