Who we are
IOS Press is an independent international scientific, technical, medical (STM) publishing house established in 1987 in Amsterdam (NL). We produce around 90 journals and 70 books annually in a broad range of subject categories, primarily specializing in biomedical and life sciences (including neurosciences, medical informatics, cancer research, rehabilitation) and physical sciences (including computer sciences, artificial intelligence, engineering). In addition, we offer specialized services that support scientific advancement.
It is our mission to collaborate with the global scientific community by publishing content and offering specialized, flexible services that elevate quality, accessibility, and impact of research.
Who we are looking for
A marketeer with 3 years of experience in STM publishing who knows how to plan and implement day-to-day marketing activities on behalf of academic publications.
Your responsibilities
Flexible scheduling of 32-36 hours/week.
Working alongside the marketing team to:
Develop marketing communications strategy and implement plans for a portfolio of journals and books in specific subject disciplines
Develop key messages for author and product communications
Work closely with Journal Managers and Book Publishers to foster product growth and success
Establish, manage and maintain excellent contacts with key stakeholders across the scientific communities served by the product portfolio
Contribute to the development and maintenance of IOS Press websites
Some travel within Europe, North America and/or Asia when required and feasible due to the pandemic
What you should bring:
3 years of experience in STM publishing marketing; university level degree in a marketing-related field or equivalent is a plus
Multichannel marketing experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Excellent organizational skills and strategic thinking
Strong analytical skills
Creative mind and eye for detail and design
Flexibility and willingness to learn

IOS Press is based in Amsterdam, and most of our team works remotely with regular team meetings held at our office. Thirty employees currently work in or around the Amsterdam area.
